2020 K-12 Online Nationals: How to register

– Q300 is participating as a team in this event, which takes place December 12-13
– Participants will only play vs. others in their grade
– To register, follow the the instructions below:

1. BECOME A U.S. CHESS MEMBER
   • https://new.uschess.org/become-member
   • Pick either “Regular Scholastic” (ages 12 and under, $17) or “Regular Youth” (ages 13-15, $22)
   • Existing (non-expired) members can skip this step
2. CREATE A U.S. CHESS ACCOUNT
   • https://new.uschess.org/civicrm/profile/create?gid=41
   • You will need the member ID from step 1
3. CREATE A CHESSKID / CHESS.COM ACCOUNT
   • Grades K-5: if you don’t already have a ChessKid account, create one here
   • Grades 6-8: if you don’t already have a Chess.com account, create one here
4. (K-5 ONLY) JOIN THE U.S. CHESS GROUP ON CHESSKID
   • Go to your settings page: https://www.chesskid.com/settings/account
   • Click “Do you have a Group Registration Key?” at the bottom (screenshot), and enter the key K12Showdown
     • To check whether you joined correctly, go to your Chesskid profile (user icon, top left), click on Guardians, and check whether “US Chess/ChessKid K12 Showdown” shows up under Groups.
5. ASSOCIATE THE USERNAMES
   • Go to https://new.uschess.org/form/manage-my-information
   • In the “Online Chess Partners” section, add your chesskid (K-5) or chess.com (6-8) username
6. FINALLY…REGISTER!
