A whopping 21 players from Q300 attended the 57th annual New York State Scholastic Championships at Saratoga Springs on March 8-9, 2025. The two-day tournament was packed with action with 6 rounds played in total. We also enjoyed a group dinner at a local sushi restaurant on Saturday night. Despite the hiccup with the team room situation, the Q300 chess team had a great time and strong performance. In particular, the K-1 U400 players (Alex Yang, Evan Yu, Luke Zhang, Kalina Mojsovska) won the 1st place team trophy, with three players placed in top 10 individually (Alex – 3rd place, Evan – 8th place, Luke – 9th place). Other notable results include Jakov Mojsovski in K-5 U1000 section winning 5 out of 6 games (tied for 5th place and ranked at 18th after tiebreak). Big congratulations to them and the entire Q300 chess team. Also, many thanks to Coach Ivan and his NYCA team to support the team on site.
